The farmer's life begins about 4:30 am every day. They are up for breakfast, out to feed the animals, then to check all their crops, including watering them and other chores. The work day continues until dark, which is about 6 pm.
Farming is a universal need in today's culture. People have to eat, so some people have to learn how to plant and grow things. Farming was the only way of life for centuries for some people. Farming was very hard on people back then, and they did not seem to live very long lives. Today, it is not the easiest job either, but the equipment makes it a little easier.
Farmers had to depend on the weather for water, and on the sun to make things grow. Farmers are pretty much at the mercy of weather as to what happens to their crops. Farming was a very important part of people's lives back in the days, as it is today. It is just that people nowadays think everything comes from the grocery store. That is not true. Everything that is in the grocery store comes from a farm somewhere. In previous decades, farmers often used pesticides to grow their crops, but with the concerns for the environment, more and more farmers are growing their crops organically.
Farmers are at the mercy of the buyers and sellers, and thus the small business farmer is rare these days.
