There have been studies done to show that living in the country can affect the outcome of young adults that move to urban areas after leaving home. In these studies, we find that children raised on farms in almost all countries are paid less than those that grew up in the urban areas. This is thought to be because the education is not as strict for children in the country. Women that are from the country have less education and find it harder to get jobs in urban areas.
Although children that grow up on farms tend to be more responsible and able to manage time better, this doesn’t help them in the fast paced life that most people in the cities live. They struggle to find careers that will give them the chance to develop the skills needed to function in the business world, even though they have exceptional work ethics to offer the companies.
Children and families that grow up in the country seem to have less medical problems and better immune systems according to studies in Austria. They are exposed to different types of plants and pollens from birth and their bodies build immunities to things such as hay fever. They also eat naturally grown products that haven’t been processed or preserved and therefore are not subjecting their bodies to the foreign chemicals people in urban areas often consume.
In another study, children that grew up in the country were at more risk for injury than those growing up in urban areas. Some of the fatalities are the same, just under different circumstances. An example of this would be drowning. Urban children drown in swimming pools where rural children drown in ponds, irrigation ditches, or rivers. Farm equipment is a high risk factor for children in rural areas as well.
