Wide open spaces, coyotes howling in the night, shrubs rustling in the wind; these are the calls of the west. The Western United States provides a completely different lifestyle than other areas of the country, just as those areas have lifestyles unique to that region. It doesn't matter who you are, where you are from or what age you are, you will enjoy living in the West.

Everything from cooking to furnishings to outdoor activities there all have a western flair. Men and women alike wear jeans, boots and sometimes a hat. Manners are very important to the westerner. They still tip their hats at women, open doors for them and wave at you as they pass you on the highway. Nowhere else will you find that kind of friendliness. You will see ranches with cattle grazing beside a windmill and horses running in the distance. Dances, rodeos and parades are all part of western life. There are even cowboy churches springing up everywhere. This is a great idea for the people who don't want a traditional church, but somewhere you can call home with likeminded people.

Even though the western lifestyle is different, the feelings from the heart are not. Family and friends are very important to everyone. A sense of loyalty and pride abounds in this area of the country. The American spirit is alive and well in the West. Visit the Western United States and you will feel right at home.
