Western Style Life

So you think Western Style Life is all about late night hot tub parties, margaritas in glasses with stems that look like cactus, wearing cowboy clothes, square dancing, eating tacos by the fire, paintings of the desert, and poolside weddings?

There is so much more sophistication to the Western Style of Life than those things. There are Western influences in handmade furniture, turquoise and coral jewelry, clothing, boots and shoes, high fashion as well as cowboy fashion, and Mexican and Tex Mex cuisine have become an art form. You can find primitive Mexican art and Shabby Chic Malibu art.

Westerners pride themselves on a leisurely way of life. There are the wonderful wine tasting tours of California's Napa/Sonoma/Mendocino Valley, the Hot Springs in Calistoga, Old Faithful Geyser and the Petrified Forest outside of Calistoga, and the white sandy beaches all along the Western coastline, from Pacifica to Malibu. There are wonderful glass companies, like the Desert Sunrise Glass Company, that features lamps, chandeliers, and wall art famous in the low,
L-shaped, ranch-style houses. There are many types of tequilas and many types of margaritas, and other Western drinks. Mexican beers are also popular, as are small boutique style beer breweries. There are still rodeos and people still wear cowboy clothes and horseback riding is a popular passtime.

Mostly, there is diversity. You can wear what you want, eat what you want, and be who you want to be. Or, you can jump in the hot tub!
