Enjoying Life With Western Outfitters

In southeastern Washington near Pomeroy, there is a great opportunity for a wilderness vacation on the Western Life Ranch. Dave and Sas Waldron own an outfitter ranch. Here you can pick from a few different options. Horseback trail riding in the mountains, hiking through the mountains on trails at your own pace, and camping for several days in different camps. If you are out on your own every couple of days someone will stop by and check on you and make sure you have everything you need, including food. They have tents that they provide for people to use. At this ranch you can even have a chuck wagon dinner.

You have the opportunity for a hunting trip at this camp. Guided hunting trips are available.You can also go on your own and hunt. You can hunt bear in the spring with a permit or in the fall. Elk hunts are available with a permits. Mule deer are the most hunted from this camp. The scouts will help pack the meat from your deer for the carry out. Whitetail hunts are also available. Some hunts are a week long. It takes one day to travel into the mountains and set up camp. Then you spend six days hunting from your camp site. In return it will take one day to leave the mountains and get back to the ranch.

They provide pack camps once a year for 10 or 12 people. Your are taught how to pack things for the trail ride. They use pack mules on these trips. Dave and Sas Waldron own this outfitter ranch and enjoy the work they do for all visitors. They enjoy people and animals which makes it very enjoyable to do this daily.
