Western Style Living: So Many Choices

Western style living can mean different things to different people. You could be talking about the way you dress, the type of house you live in or the style in which you decorate your home. If you are thinking about dress you would consider western dress probably to consist of leather cowboy boots, blue jeans, and of course, a cowboy hat. You are also going to want to add a nice western belt buckle for the outfit, usually a rather large one. For the woman, you would want to have a western style purse preferably made of leather.

Western style homes are a different matter. If you live in New Mexico, you might consider a western style home to be adobe but that would not be the same if you lived in Texas or even California where you would most likely find more of a ranch style home. This type of home would probably have low pitched roofs with a large dining room and living room combined, which lead into a country kitchen. Some would also consider a western style home to be more on the lines of a cabin.

Furnishings for a western style home include many different styles. You might want to go with the Native American theme and use pictures of Indians or tepees or buffalo. If you are going for the cowboy look you can have leather or cowhide furniture along with coffee or end table made with antlers or maybe carved with a horse or deer. You can find this type of furniture for every room in your home.
